Last time, we continued exploring the many reasons to praise God today and every day. Let’s move forward together:

7. Praise God—He Reigns

1 Chronicles 16:31 “Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; and let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns.’”

To say that God reigns is to acknowledge Him as King and Ruler over all creation. He is sovereign, firmly seated on His throne, and nothing can dethrone Him. We can trust Him to reign in righteousness, justice, and love. His rule is unshakable, and that should give us confidence and peace no matter what is happening around us.

8. Praise God—He is Our Coming Judge

1 Chronicles 16:33 “Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord, for He is coming to judge the earth.”

This truth calls for a two-fold praise. First, we praise God that Jesus is returning one day to take His children to be with Him in heaven. What joy to know that this broken world is not the end of the story—eternity with Him awaits!

Second, we praise God because He will judge in perfect righteousness. The wicked will not go unpunished, and the faithful will be vindicated. As Romans 8:1 reminds us, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” If you belong to Christ, you need not fear judgment.

But for those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, Revelation 20:15 warns of eternal separation from God. The injustices we see today will one day be made right—Psalm 37:1-2, 37-38 assures us of this. God is both merciful and just.

9. Praise God—He is Good

1 Chronicles 16:34 “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”

God is good—all the time. His goodness is not circumstantial; it flows from His very nature. Even when life doesn’t feel good, God is still working for our good. Romans 8:28 reminds us that He weaves every circumstance—even the painful ones—for His purposes. Trusting His goodness allows us to rest in His plan, even when we don’t understand it.

10. Praise God—He is Eternal

1 Chronicles 16:36 “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting! And all the people said, ‘Amen!’ and praised the Lord.”

God has no beginning and no end. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Leaders change, cultures shift, circumstances rise and fall, but God remains constant. We will never wake up to find that His character has changed—He is everlasting and eternally faithful.

Conclusion

Continual praise naturally leads to continual joy. When we train our hearts to recognize every moment as an opportunity to give thanks, we’ll discover beauty, joy, and peace even in life’s challenges. Let us be people who praise God not only for what He does, but for who He is—reigning, righteous, good, and eternal.
