Peace is one of the greatest evidences of God’s overflow. It’s not the calm that comes after the storm, but the calm that remains in the storm. While the world chases peace through possessions, positions, or pleasures, true peace flows from a Person, Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
This divine peace does more than quiet our minds; it anchors our souls, strengthens our faith, and secures our future. It’s a peace that holds steady when everything around us seems to shake.
Let’s begin by exploring the first of four dimensions of God’s overflowing peace.
1. Peace That Assures
📖 Philippians 4:6–7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Peace that assures is God’s way of calming our hearts in a world filled with uncertainty. Assurance means being confident in what we cannot yet see. Even when circumstances shift, God’s peace reminds us that His promises never fail.
This peace doesn’t come from having all the answers; it comes from knowing the One who holds the answers. It’s not the absence of trouble, but the presence of trust. When life feels unpredictable, peace reminds us, as the song says, that we are “Safe in His Arms.”
Think of a child resting in their parent’s embrace. The child doesn’t understand every danger around them or have the strength to face them, yet they are perfectly at ease because they trust who is holding them. That’s exactly what God’s peace does for us.
No matter how uncertain the road looks, we are held by the One who never loses control. His name is Jesus.
📖 Isaiah 26:3
“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”
Assurance comes when our focus is fixed on God, not on the problem. Peace that assures doesn’t always remove the storm, but it removes the fear.
So today, let God’s peace settle deep within your heart. He’s got you completely.
